Hoo FC – more than a football club.

Founded in 2017, Hoo FC began as a simple weekly kickabout between a group of local Dads. What started as a casual game quickly evolved into something far greater — a team, and ultimately a thriving community football club built on passion, friendship, and togetherness.

Our first competitive side, Hoo Vets, competed in the Southern Vets Football League, laying the foundations for the clubs growth and identity. In the 2025/26 season, we proudly progressed into the Kent County Football League, marking an important milestone in our development.

Many of the original players remain actively involved today. More than teammates, they have built lasting friendships that extend beyond the pitch — regularly socialising and touring together, with tournaments in both Holland and Spain highlighting the strong bond at the heart of the club.

Our Teams Today:
Hoo FC continues to grow across all levels of the game, with teams currently competing in a wide range of respected leagues:

Kent County Football League

Kent Girls & Ladies Football League

South East Counties Football League

Medway Youth League

JPL Warriors

This structure provides a clear pathway for players of all ages and abilities to develop and enjoy the game in a supportive environment.

Our Home
A key moment in the clubs development came in 2022 through our partnership with the Hoo Village Institute. At the time, the pitch and surrounding facilities were in need of significant improvement. Through dedication, investment, and the hard work of volunteers, we have transformed the ground into a facility that the club and its members can be extremely proud of.

This progress has been formally recognised with a Kent FA Good Quality Pitch Award, alongside invaluable funding and support from the Football Foundation.

Girls’ Football
The development of girls football is a central focus of Hoo FC.
Starting with Wildcats and Squad Girls sessions, we now have multiple teams.
We are particularly proud that some of our earliest participants are now representing the club at Under 16 level — a testament to the strength of our development pathway and the commitment shown by players, coaches, and volunteers.
This season we have girls who have progressed and become key members of the womens squad.

Developing the Future
Hoo FC is committed not only to developing players, but also to supporting the next generation of coaches. Several of our current players are actively involved in delivering Saturday soccer schools, working towards coaching qualifications and gaining valuable experience within the football community.
With the continued support of the Hoo Village Institute and our wider community, we are focused on building a strong and sustainable future — particularly within the girls’ and women’s game. Our ambition is to create something truly special that will benefit players not just today, but for many years to come.

More Than Football
Hoo FC is more than just a football club. It is a place where friendships are formed, community spirit thrives, and people come together through a shared love of the game.
